This beautiful Argegno home was clean and spacious with stunning views from the balcony and had absolutely everything we could possibly need. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful, always happy to answer any questions about the home or the surrounding area, as well as providing a folder with all pertinent information. The village of Argegno is totally walkable from the home and there are lots of restaurants/bars with friendly owners and waitstaff, for meals or just aperitifs. The village felt extremely safe to walk around at all hours. Note: it is a steep hill to climb on the way back (you can always opt to drive- we didn’t).

All of the lakeside villages are accessible from the lake by ferry so you really do not need a car unless you want to explore past the towns located on Lake Como. The normal ferries are large and have plenty of space, and there is a fast ferry as well. Note: If you do decide to take the ‘fast service’ ferry, book your return journey as soon as you get to your destination as space on these ferries sells out and you cannot buy a return ticket for this type of ferry.

My favorite part of the home was the beautiful terrace and balconies with incredible views. We spent a lot of time out there, from coffee at sunrise to wine and cheese at sunset. This beautifully decorated home was the perfect home base for a relaxing holiday and for exploring the local area around Lake Como.

About the area

Argegno is home to the ever popular weekly market which is takes place every Monday morning 8am-1pm.

Boat hire also available in the village of Argegno , please ask for details.

Take the cable car up to Pigra from Argegno to see some amazing panoramic views or enjoy a coffee or bite to eat.

There many restaurants and cafés populate such a small area here in the village centre of Argegno.

Most of them are located on the lakefront, so they offer exceptional views during your dining experience.

The wine bars serving authentic italian varieties of wine are frequented by locals and Italian’s from further afield who arrive on the weekend to sample the local flavour and atmosphere. Sunday morning is popular here in Argegno as the cyclist and motorcyclists descend on the village to enjoy a coffee, glass of wine or ice cream from the fantastic geletaria ice cream parlour housed in the centre of the village. A small convenience shop and fishmongers conjures up images of a bygone life in this medieval village.

The ferry stop here in the village accesses all major tourist locations.

A local supermarket is also found only 10 mins away by car/ bus.
